If you set up and tear down chairs every week, the chair-moving solution you have probably isn't built for it. Bent frames, scuffed floors, and three trips for what should be one. Raymond Products has been building heavy-duty chair movers in Minneapolis since 1958 for the people who actually have to move the chairs.

What "chair mover" actually means

The phrase covers three different pieces of equipment, and the right one depends on your chairs and your floor.

Type Best for Capacity
Chair mover hand truck Moving short stacks across rooms 6–12 chairs
Chair storage cart (hanging) Storing folding chairs vertically when not in use Up to 72 chairs
Stacked chair dolly Moving stacks of stacking chairs (banquet, training-room style) 8–10 stacked chairs

If you're at a school, church, or banquet hall and you store the chairs flat against a wall, you want the chair storage cart. If you stack them on the floor and roll the stacks where they need to go, you want the stacked chair dolly. If you only move a few at a time across a room, the chair mover hand truck is the simpler answer.

Why Raymond chair movers

  • American-made in Minneapolis since 1958. We weld every frame. The steel is heavy-gauge, not the thin-wall stuff that bends after a year.
  • Non-marring casters rated for institutional flooring — gym floors, hardwood, vinyl, polished concrete.
  • One-person operation. Balanced for an adult to wheel a full load without help.
  • Built to outlast. Many of our chair movers are still in service in schools that bought them in the 1970s.

Featured Models

Hanging Folding Chair Storage Truck — Models 920 / 920L

Stores up to 48 folding chairs vertically. Compact footprint. The smaller cousin of the 72-chair model — best when storage closets are narrow.

Stacked Chair Mover Model 500

Moves stacks of stacking chairs without unstacking them. Two-wheeled design, heavy-duty welded steel.

Heavy-Duty Chair Storage Cart — 72-chair capacity

The full-size storage cart. Holds up to 72 folding chairs in vertical hanging configuration. Saves more floor space than any flat-stack alternative.

How to choose

  1. Count your chairs. Most schools and churches need 36 to 72 capacity per cart. Buy one cart per 50 chairs as a rule of thumb.
  2. Folding or stacking? Folding chairs hang on the storage cart vertically. Stacking chairs (the rigid ones with the curved seat) need a different dolly because they don't fold flat.
  3. Floor type. Confirm caster spec for your floor. Our standard non-marring casters work on every institutional surface.
  4. How far do you move them? If under 30 feet, a hand truck does the job. If across a building, a full storage cart is the right call.
